As the title states, I've decided to talk about how blogging has changed my life. This is my fourth year blogging and it hasn't been until recently that I feel like blogging has actually had an impact on my life. The last two years, I blogged very little and it wasn't until this year that I started blogging more consistently.

I'm less shy

I hated being approached by anyone because I always felt I could never keep a conversation going. When I was younger, when I first started a job as a receptionist, I hated being the person that had to answer the phone or greet a client when they came in. I would pray some else would attempt at it first. That was the beginning of me starting to open up and being less shy. But the more I blog and meet new people, the more open I have to be and be able to keep up a conversation.

Quality vs. Quantity

When shopping become a love for me, I always based my buys on wanting to have more rather than having better quality items. When Israel and I started dating, my thought process changed and I decided that quality was better, so I started spending my money and things that were probably only going to be in for a season, or two. And buying more than I needed and having to spend way too much money on too many pieces of clothing. When Israel and I moved out, I started to be smarter about spending my money (but not too much) but both quantity and quality became important. I wanted to have enough new pieces of clothing to style but I wanted to have high-quality clothing to last me almost forever.

I stopped following fashion trends

I used to be that person that would follow every trend that was in. Do you remember those Spice Girls platforms? I was in elementary but I wanted it regardless how uncomfortable or ugly they were. I cut my hair in a faux hawk when Naima from ATNM cut her hair into a faux hawk and rocked it so hard. For as long as I can remember, I always wanted to follow the trends and have it for my own. Don't get my wrong, if I love something trendy at the moment, I'll go out and buy it (if it, of course, looks good on me). So you won't see me buying fishnet socks/stockings. I like to keep my style chic, classic and mostly monochromatic.

It has documented my memories

I've had a lot of ups and downs in my life and I have been able to document it thanks to my blog. I doucmented the time Israel and I first moved out, or when my best friend, Marble Jolens, was gone from my life. It has documented all my feelings and thoughts when I had no one where to put it. It's like my private diary that everyone is more than welcome to read.

Blogging has been nothing but great for my life. I'm so glad I never gave up on the times that I felt like giving up. Things can only get better and better the more I do this.

  3. hat a fabulous quote! If I lived by it I'm sure it would improve my life too.
It's nice that you go with your own fashion taste instead of simply following trends.
The top you were wearing in todays post is a pretty one. I also like your blue sunnies, the way you style your hair and your hair colour.
It's nice that you have photos and your writing to augment your memories.
    I love your blog.
