I've had my fair share of education. I'm 27 years old and I've taken a handful of post secondary courses and got myself a Chemical Engineering Technology diploma. I've always been really good at school - I can pick up new things quickly, understand new concepts and have some sort of photographic memory when it comes to memorizing stuff. So I decided to take the plunge and apply for another round of post secondary courses.
I've applied into Bachelor of Technology for Technology Management and I'm hoping to specialize in Project Management. Considering I'm already a manager for an optometrist office, I don't see why I wouldn't be able to expand my skills and hopefully later down the road, find something more related to what I went to school for. It would be such a waste to not use my diploma when I worked hard to get it!
That being said and done, it just means I'm going to have to work extra hard as I am going to have to work full time still. Israel and I have too many bills and a wedding to save up for that I couldn't even think about not working. Let alone car payments and insurance! I am feeling a little sick to my stomach about it but I know my hard work will pay off (or so I'm hoping).
I just hope that this will help me in the future and not drag me down. Sometimes I feel as if I wasted two years of my life getting my Chemical Engineering Technology diploma. But I know deep down it wasn't all that bad. I met Israel while in the program, figured out I was really cut out to do the jobs that came along with it and met some great people!
Life is tough, but you have to do what you need to do to better yourself. I just hope that this is what I meant to do!
