A Sense of Shock

The moment I found out I was pregnant, I just had a wave of emotions come over me but the biggest emotion was mostly, shock. Iz and I weren't really "planning" on starting a family, it was more of "if it happens, it happens". Deep down, I wanted to start a family but I was always too scared of the idea - were we ready? Was I ready?! Did we want to change our lifestyle, so it was never really in our plan?

One day, I just had this gut feeling that I needed to take a pregnancy test, my periods were irregular so I wasn't really expecting anything. But I just had this gut feeling that I should take the test. I was at work, I peed on the stick and waited for the result. When I saw it came out positive, I almost stopped breathing. I had to make sure I wasn't seeing things. I took a deep breath, looked at it again and decided I need to double check. So I did another pregnancy test and of course, the same results. I was so nervous and shocked, that I had to call Iz ASAP. And of course, he had the exact same reaction as me!

A Whole Lot of Happiness

I left work a little early that day to see Iz and when I got home, we decided that I needed to triple check, just to be 100% sure! And when those results came back as positive, I just couldn't help but smile and laugh! I couldn't even contain how excited I was and I wanted to tell everyone! Of course, we didn't. We did, however, gather our families and told them because we were just so excited!

I know I was on the fence about having a baby, but finding out we were going to have Baby DK, changed my whole outlook on that! I'm so excited to be starting a family with Iz and I can't wait to hold our little bundle of joy!
